A rare event as 71000 the 'Duke of Gloucester' is loaded for transportation by road from its home on the East Lancashire Railway, to the Severn Valley railway in March 2009. It is likely that this is only the third time this amazing and unique loco has ever been moved by road.

  • a good job in transportation and film

  • This is absolutely amazing. Thank you very much for sharing this amazing event with us.

  • Silly me Steve, I suppose every Thompson is a 'Thommo'. But your a 'Duke' fan so your not all bad! LoL.

  • Interesting intense scenes of her being put onto the low loader and getting her on road. She looks very well sparkling clean. Lets hope we see her back on the mainline.

Wonderful to hear from you again. Pity I couldn't make to the NYMR gala when the Duke was there. But I was with the loco at Shildon and on board when she returned to the ELR after the Gala.

R U still working on the NYMR?
