  • I would refer you to II Tinmothy 3: 16-17. You cannot pick and choose which scripture is for you, which ones were made up later etc.. You should either attempt to follow "all scripture" or admit your god cannot even preserve his intended message for generations of people who would have no other way of finding him!! Your counterpoints in this video are full of holes and the scripture I referenced here shuts it closed.

  • There's nothing quite like an atheist using prooftexting.

You are the type of atheist I happen to call a "fundamentalist atheist." This is because, though you are an atheist, you still look at and read the Bible exactly like a fundamentalist does: it's all or nothing. Totally black and white.

In fact, aren't you "picking and choosing" which scripture is for you by selecting just one passage?

You need to understand that not everyone views scripture like this.

  • Again......what do you not understand about "ALL" scripture.....seems pretty clearly defined to me!

  • @onechess Another thing to add to that verse is that scripture is never clearly defined in that verse, nor is it made clear what is meant by "God-breathed."

  • There is no such thing as the fall of man so jesus did not need to sacrifice himself for himself, no proof for life after death, Hinduism is older than Judaism (what was god waiting for ?) the bible copies other religions e.g. Virgin birth, we know some of the bible tales are fictional e.g. tower of babel, the concept of blood sacrifice comes from the practice of scapegoating, not from god. We know that the gospels contradict each other e.g. Who witnessed the empty tomb ?, So why even have th

  • Yes, christians can be intelligent. However, the more important part of intelligence is learning HOW to think. For example, skeptical thinking and relying on concrete evidence. I would consider faith to be the complete opposite of HOW you should approach whether a situation is true. For instance, only one religion can be true, yet all the other religions have the same sincerity of faith, right? Therefore, at least 95% of faith in world has to be utterly wrong. Faith is not a good approach.

  • For ones who look as deeply as you it might just be best to go with the historians gospel book.

  • Your responses are superficial and trivializing. How do you respond to the fact that xians do not reflect the qualities and attributes that Jesus himself said, "those who have faith in him", should have or exhibit, in John 14:11-14? If you cannot exhibit those attributes, by Jesus' own words, you do not have faith. Or, Jesus was a liar. Or, He did not utter those words. Or, he was just another weary, confused Jew, a victim of his milieu, no less than we are of our own.

Atheists aren't the ones claiming this book to be the "perfect Word of God." If something is "perfection" then IT IS a case of "all or nothing." Is this book divine perfection, or not?
