In 1960, a group of social outcasts who are bullied by a gang of greasers lead by Henry Bowers are also tormented by an evil demon who can shapeshift into a clown and feed on children's fears and kill them. After defeating the demonic clown as kids, it resurfaces 30 years later and they must finish it off as adults once again.

TV used to be so much better. Now it's all T&A and it's more violent but prudes wouldn't allow something genuinely scary like this these days. Ridiculous!

@LilMissFeisty95 That's probably the inspiration, though I never thought of it before! It's about a child-eating monster, but it's pretty easy to see what sparked that idea in Stephen King's mind.
