In a rare TV appearance, producer Ethan Johns discusses working with The Boxer Rebellion and the making of their third album 'The Cold Still.' Released in February 2011, 'The Cold Still' marks a remarkable chapter in the band's career. Their previous album 'Union' was self-released in 2009 and saw the band become the first unsigned artist to enter the Billboard Top 100 Albums Chart on digital sales alone. 'Union' was later named Alternative Album of the Year by iTunes US, where it topped the Alternative Albums Charts and went Top 5 in the US and UK.
'The Cold Still' was recorded at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios in Box, England, and this short 7-minute film contains interviews with the band and a rare glimpse of the studio setting and recording process. Directed by Academy Award-nominated Giorgio Testi, this is widely acknowledged as one of the best behind-the-scenes mini-docs out there.
Can't believe I'm just seeing this now... Nature just keeps all the good bands hidden in the woodworks...
