US Ambassador to Iraq Ryan Crocker gives his opening statement to the U.S House of Representatives during a joint committee session today. September 10, 2007
I get your points, I do. But when a man from the US government calls for Bush and Cheney to be indicted immediately because of the attrocities caused through this ilegal invasion then I'll call him brave. This guy blames all on Saddam, forgetting that the US government helped install Saddam in Iraq, and then helped him with weapons against the Iran shias. No mention of that at all. No mention of the amount of refugees caused by this war, or anything of that matter.
True, I hate getting into youtube comment "debates" so I try to stay out of them... but this one I just couldn't keep my mouth shut. Call it a vent...
He's brave because he volunteers to go to these dangerous regions of the world to get involved and make a difference instead of just sitting back and seeing the world through newspapers, TV, and youtube.
Of course he thought the invasion was stupid, but he's doing what he can to make sure we don't screw up more than we already have.
Well ELsegundo, he's speaking of "liberation". If this guy, yes, he's a GUY whether you like it or not is so brave why doesn't he say it like it is? If he wants to serve his country he should start with the truth and not just follow the usual BS about Iraq. As for me making youtube comments well, what are YOU doing? That's right, the same thing as me, only I don't have any problems with anybody commenting anywhere.
This "guy" has served in some of the most dangerous places around the world during his time in the Foreign Service. He was one of the first people to say "NO" to the invasion of Iraq, but once we invaded he was the first to raise his hand to go there and try and do his best. You know why? Because he gets involved and tries his best to serve this country. He doesn't sit back and say "I told you so." This "guy" has risked his life to negotiate a peaceful resolution...and you make youtube comments
Marspyramids... I wouldn't worry about negative ratings. Some people actually believe whatever is thrown to them through the media. They have no other sources of information other than what their parents told them to listen to, so they happily talk about the deaths of thousands of people as if it was a rating game on US TV. Thank you and keep looking for the truth, who knows, we might be able to get rid of this mentality once and for all one day.
Why do you have negative 3 rating on your comment when you are speaing the truth? What kind of madness has got the American people confused and bewildered to the point where logic, intelligence, and rationality is needed most!
This guy is still using the Saddam BS to justify their murders for oil. It's pathetic. Now 20% of the population of Iraq has been displaced, raped, migrated, injured or killed, and he speaks of "liberation". Thank God these cold blooded twisted characters never last too long in history, alas, long enough to kill a million.
The middle east can only reconcile once we LEAVE. We tried for force our presence there and 'make things better' but it did not and has not had that NET EFFECT. Iraq was a mistake, it was not an attack on terrorism, but since the US invasion we have seen Iraq in a state of terrorism. Heal the world with diplomacy, trade, communicate and friendship - NOT BOMBS and hate.
