The Technodome is a Half-Life 2: Deathmatch level with unique game play mechanics.
Based upon event based levels such as dm_crossfire and dm_runoff players in the Technodome has to collect energy cells to power the security door and get to safety from falling bombs. The energy cells can also be used to access the RPG and Crossbow.
Technodome has unique gameplay mechanics and even includes a special HUD-element using only Hammer scripting. Level design, scripting, lighting and level beautification is made by me. Props and textures made by Valve corporation. Additional art made by Pontus Karlsson and Filip Coulianos.

  • Great work!

It kind of reminds me of the map for Quakeworld TF "The Rock"

  • Sounds interesting. Ill have a look into it!

  • Very clever. I'm just trying to think how you triggered it so it knew when players didn't touch the cells for 5 minutes.

Overall it's a nicely, well thought out level and you'd make a good game designer / level designer. A shame that DM isn't as lively anymore.

  • @habboi Thanks man, I actually study game design ATM.

The 5 minute reset is pretty simple actually. The energy cells makes outputs to a timer each time they are being put down on the ground by a gravity gun. If they are being picked up within 5 minutes, the timer resets. Simple as that :D

  • @coulianos Err, not really reset, the timer is being disabled. Sorry :P. Just send me an email and ill give you the .vmf .

  • Really good job on this level. Great video as well, I found it super informative! Keep up the good work.

  • Very nice.

  • Nice presentation! I'm going to try the map now :)

  • I must say this is genius! You do wonderful work analyzing important areas of gameplay and altering them to make truly enjoyable game-modes. Your work is defiantly something to look up to.

  • Nice one, you've updated this old game. I just wonder if it'll take off though, because killbox is really popular and has little design or thought put into it.
