A beautiful ballad by Marty Robbins. Do you have any of his 1950 hits? Thankyou tarquin. JUDA59ful

Love this beautiful song and so happy to be able to hear it again here. The writer of this song was friend of my Father's. I always remember how proud Dad was of his friend writing this song and being recorded by the great Marty Robbins.

I first heard him sing when I was barely 11 yrs. old, and from that moment, I vowed to myself that I'm going to look for him when I grow up and marry him (that was a little girl's wishful thinking). But I found out that was no to be. He was gone from us so soon, but he left his songs for us to remember him by. I migrated to the US and was lucky to live in Texas. The first city that I visited was El Paso to relive his story of Rose's cantina and felina. Love you, Marty forever...

The very best artist, ballads, love songs, patriotic, spiritual , he could sing them all. he had an excellent cast of musicians for accompaniment. His musicians could make spanish sounding music, sound very good. You have a treasure trove of music & most of it is a history lesson. Thanks to you & You Tube for letting me listen. i'm almost 80 yrs. old, this music is one of my pleasures.

Tarquin45 love all your stuff, Marty along with johnny Cash is what got me hooked on country music for life. I also have to say Jim Reeves. The music lives on even though they have gone on.

@ALLUNEEDISLUV25 i am happy to hear that, God bless, 9 hey not bad going.
Putting Marty on youtube was something tha has given me a lot of pleasure and it's great that he isn't forgotten. I'm amazed sometimes even after a virtual lifetime of being a fan just how talented he actually was. Aside from the beautiful voice he was a stunning songwriter who maybe never wrote the classics to rival perhaps Hank Williams or Don Gibson, but for sheer different kind of songs Marty surpassed any Country singer before or since.

Hello everyone! My father, Hank Hanewinkel Sr., wrote the lyrics to this song. He wrote it about his, and my mom's, wedding. He became acquainted with Marty in the '60s and pitched this song to him. His manager said that he didn't usually take songs from outside writers, but loved this one and wanted to do it. It was on the "My Woman, My Woman, My Wife" LP, the "Johnny Cash & Friends" LP, and Time Life's Marty Robbins Gospel collection. Thank you all, so much, for the kind words.

Thanks for the interesting information about the song Hank. Marty rarely recorded antything that was not written by himself or his affiliated writers as you say, but it must have been a great moment for your father to have the song accepted by him. I think it's a lovely song.
