Turkish Medium Altitude Long Endurance UAV.

The Anka UAV, which has a 17.3-meter wingspan, is eight meters long and has a maximum payload of 200 kilograms, will make its maiden flight in October and reach initial operating capability with the Turkish Air Force in September before reaching full operating capability in December 2012, TAI said at the Farnborough Air Show.

TAI sister company Aselsan is supplying the UAV's EO/IR pod and SAR/GMTI radar, while TAI is providing a ground control station, a mobile set-up for exploiting imagery and remote visual terminals supplying real-time imagery to ground troops.

The Anka will have automatic take-off and landing and autonomous flight capabilities, as well as retractable landing gear, a heavy fuel engine, line-of-sight navigation with a range of 200 kilometers and deicing capability.

"There is a high interest in this UAV from export customers and we are prepared to invite them to join the program at observation or associate level," said TAI CEO Muharrem Dortkasli.

  • Nice commercial (although I would suggest putting overlay messages in English). To me the bird resembles Elbit's Hermes 900, except this does not have a bulbous head ... no satcom? By when the real bird?

  • @danicobo Updated with your sugestion. The actual UAV is performing ground tests at the moment, first flight is to be expected some time this month. The UAV is at it's early stages yet, there is a pontential capability to equip it with SAT-COM aswell as having it equipped with ELINT and Military/civilian Communication relay incase of natural disasters or man-made (war) there will still be an ability to have wide dispersion of communication.

  • @philipdcrusader

if you sure you got it then see you doctor before its too late especially if youre really 55

  • @quaresma7besiktas Got it Sir. That's the reason the UAV technology is another Turkey's copycat.

  • @philipdcrusader

no answer to my questions then wthf u "reply"?

i am not emotional i know what my country able to achieve meanwhile it is a fact that especially in recent years turkey has made a great advance in military technologies too, therefore you should educate yourself instead of babbling,

and i have not said uav is the original technology of turkey, only that it is not originated from israhel, got it?

  • @quaresma7besiktas Dont be emotional, my friend. I have yet to see the original technology of Turkey. Of course, Israel was Turkey's friend but its not true now and UAV is the legacy of that friendship.

  • @philipdcrusader is israel the first country to produce uav?

how you made sure the design of heron is originated from israel?

am i talking to another zionist moron?
