i feel the pain. i suffer from bulimia, and its so painful to see life the way its supposed to be. its not me in the mirror...but if i lose more pounds...everything will be ok, even tho i know its not going to.

@phoenix1237spoken no sweety, your the one that doesn't "get it" i know all about this okay? and there is a way to handle a situation like this and she did not handle it right by any means...she was mean cold and nasty. there is no excuse for her behavior, espciallly towards someone with a disorder.

A lot of comments here seem to blame the individual with the eating disorder. I want to point out that there are psychological consequences to being underweight that keep the eating disorder going. Once a person drops below a BMI of 19 they automatically become more obsessive, more rigid, more indecisive, and have heightened feelings of fullness. This is part of why anorexia becomes self-maintaining eventually. And so it's unlikely for the person to "snap out of it" without support.
