  • I started Veterinary Technician training because i can't stand working with people...lol that was a mistake. You have to love the animals enough to put up with the dumb owners!

  • It REALLY pisses me off when people don't think Veterinarians are "real doctors"!!

  • @hit88mph but, doctor schools dont teach grammer either...

  • @1225doug Yes, I agree. there are hardly any schools for vets, and you have to know all about animals, even the ones that are rarley known, in the space of 4 years. there are alot more ilnesses and harmful things for animals than people, and what annoyes me more is that they give 'physicians' longer to learn about people! yes, the human body is complicated, but compared to having to learn about over 200+ things, being a physician is nothing. though, I do think they are equally important.

  • @dragonflyinhaven I'd argue it's much harder to be a vet than a physician (throw out the term "doctor"...physicians want to reserve that for themselves to feel superior)

  • being a vet is like a docter! you must be wise. and have what it takes. My mom successfully has became a Nurse in 2001.

  • to become a vet, you cant just go to the vets and say 'I want to be a vet' and expect to get a job! being a vet is just as hard as being a doctor! you have to train for years and years on end and get really high marks! it pisses me off when people think being a vet is easy!

  • ‎"..there are less veterinary schools in the country..." well I guess poor grammar is to be expected from a vet! (Medics > Vets)

  • This is awesome!!!

People just assume that because someone likes animals that they would:

    a) be a good vet and

    b) enjoy being a vet.

Vet school is hard work and it is definitely not the career choice for every animal lover! There are many other career choices that also involve animals.

Now, if you love animals, LOVE science, enjoy working with people, and like solving problems, vet school might be right for you.

People forget that much of a vet's job involves working with people.
