A news feature story audio project I did for a multimedia journalism class. For the topic of my feature story, I choose Beef Noodle King, a little noodle house in Rowland Heights specializing in northern China cuisine. The requirements of the project must
1. include live recorded audio
2. include only still pictures, no video
3. be no longer than 2 minutes in length
4. be newsworthy to students and people of the LA area
The owner didn't speak English so a customer offered to be the translator. I recorded the voice narration in the recording booth at school, and edited the audio in Audacity. I first laid down the audio track, then it was easy to pop pictures in the video track to their corresponding spots with the audio. Editing the audio was the most time consuming part of this project, mainly because I recorded lots of material but was confined to making a 2 minute project, so I had to pick and choose the best parts, and I had to layer the English translation on top of the Chinese language.
