ZHANG:
And now let's take a look at what a decorated Canadian painter has to say about the Divine Performing Arts show in Toronto.
STORY:
Famous Canadian painter Charles Pachter attended Divine Performing Arts first show in Toronto on Thursday night. He gave the shows aesthetic quality two thumps up.
[Charles Pachter, Canadian Painter]:
"So impressed by the company's rhythms and their passion, and their excellent choreography. It's a very professional performance. It's really well done. The costumes are fantastic. Beautiful. Beautifully done. Gorgeous colors. Gorgeous, gorgeous. I don't know who your costume makers and where they make them, but, boy oh boy, they're beautifully done. All the costumes have a purity to them and elegance."
The arrangement of colors received his high regards.
[Charles Pachter, Canadian Painter]:
"The palate is very alive and very bright and very impressionist. A lot of the women in these beautiful sleeves, you can see how the cloth is died, so you get the graduated look. Excellent."
He cited the ladies hairstyle as another hit.
[Charles Pachter, Canadian Painter]:
"I also like the head dresses. That goes all the way back to the early prints and paintings from classical China. Obviously, they've taken the source material and they've worked with it, and interpreted it in a modern way. It's beautiful."
The show implements technology to enhance the on-stage performance.
[Charles Pachter, Canadian Painter]:
"The sets are beautiful. These very clever computer manipulations are so well done. How there's a seamless transition between the live action figures and then when they end up on the rear screens going up to paradises, or wherever they're going - on the mountains - it's very moving."
Divine Performing Arts is at Torontos John Bassett Theatre until January 14.
NTD, Toronto.
