  • The Salton Sea was formed in 1905 when massive flooding caused the Colorado River to break through an irrigation canal headwork and flow freely into the Salton Basin for 18 months. Since then, the Sea's existence has been maintained primarily by agricultural return flows from the Imperial, Coachella, and Mexicali Valleys.

  • i'm glad you still say how much you like the salton sea. And I"m happy that you swim in the water regardless of the negative hype. the sea isn't dangerous to swim in. and when i move there in 2 years, i will be so happy...because its always been a dream of mine to live there.

  • Save Salton Sea! but use technology to do what can be done for earthquakes damage.

  • We went there today and it's very beautiful, but it sure doesn't smell very nice.

We were at the North shore and there were a lot of cranes, egrets and pelicans. Lots of dead fish along the shoreline.

  • The first time I was there was in 1985, I think. Right after our first visit, we started hearing about how the water was dangerous to swim in, but we didn't have any problems. When we went back later, we swam again. I'm really picky, but I thought it was beautiful. Very, very differerent but very beautiful. I hope to visit there either this spring or next fall.

  • I hope it's that simple. Would love to see the Salton area be saved.

  • Well, that makes sense because it's always the predator we don't recognize who's the most dangerous. When I lived in the desert, I noticed that criminals on the run liked coming to desert areas to blend in. Probably the same idea...

  • an Ass clown who lives North of Palm Springs in the mountains tried to tell me the sea was full of pollution from the river inflow. I never trust anyone who laughs at the end of every sentence like he needs be on medicaiton.

  • Do you know the great Hunky Daddy?

he sure loves that dark meat!

  • its not those on the registry that pose the greatest threat regardless of what the media and nancy bitch grace try to brainwash the public in to belieiving.
