Dance on a Volcano by Genesis played by nirad

Dance on a Volcano is one of my all time favs...anything in 7/8 is great....

I spent a good deal of time trying to get a decent recording of my drums. Here is a list of the equipment used:

Yamaha 6 piece drum set
13 assorted Zildjian and Sabian cymbals

Panasonic HDC-HS300 HD 120GB HDD CAMCORDER
Alesis IMULTIMIX-8 USB MIXER
2 x D2 - Hyper-Cardioid Dynamic Drum and Instrument Microphone
D4 - Hyper-Cardioid Dynamic Drum and Instrument Microphone
D6 - Kick Drum Microphone
Apple MacBook Pro
Final Cut Suite

I started off using Garageband to record the drums live but found it had some limitations as far as exporting....since I had the Final Cut Suite, Soundrack Pro was the logical choice. Before starting the actual recording, I imported the song into Soundtrack Pro. I used the equlizer on the mixing board to tweek the drums, then sent the stereo mix to the laptop into Soundtrack Pro. And then of course getting a good take.

Hey I liked your version of Dance on a Volcano and noticed that a lot of the other songs I too have been practicing and playing for years. I haven't looked at your list of videos yet but I wonder if any Brand X is in there. I always benefit by watching other drummers play and I just have one small thing i noticed. At least once you have to go from low to high tom. Maybe it's easier being a left handed drum like Phil but it is an important accent in that song.
