  • I have both Scottish and English blood in my veins ... it is the entire culture of the British Isles that I am loyal too ... Irish, Welsh, English and Scottish culture; they are all special and important to me.

  • The Irish tribe that came across formed the kingdom of Dalriada which is in the region of Strathclyde. Strathclyde was a separate kingdom from Scotland when it first began.

  • Thank you. The filming is spectacular. It's comforting to know about my Campbell ancestors -- how they came to be Scottish -- and that they rest in such a pristine and beautiful-- a spectacular place on our planet --

  • @PurushaDesa Absolutely. The music indeed reminds me of Horner, Shore and Zimmer :-) Glad to see I´m not the only one being choked up by it...

  • @PurushaDesa

it's funny how people differ. personally, i loathe being emotionally dragged about by the Hollywood blockbuster style music. apart from that i'm enjoying this.

  • @Strefanasha The Gaelics are the people (merchants) who migrated from Ireland and settled on the British isle. Gael + Pict = Scotland.

  • I read somewhere that the Scots were a tribe that migrated across from Ireland some time in the 8th century or so. I was hoping that the author would have commented on this but he did not.

Is this true? were they one of the Gaelic peoples mentioned in this episode? or were they myth?

I am of Scottish ancestry. Well conversant with the history of my mother's ancestors, the English, it is about time i took an interest in my father's ancestors

  • @Mediatech492 I have heard various versions of Deo Gratias since you suggested it, but I do not think this is the hymn sang in the video. Thanks for trying to help me locate the title though, it is appreciated.
