  • Thanks for sharing this! I loved it! I have been longing to go to Húsavík to go whale watching... I have gone whale watching a few times in Reykjavík but wanna see more species, although this seems to be the same ones as around Reykjavík hehe.. I wanna see Killer whales! :) They are so beautiful and "jump" more out of the ocean

  • We only saw minkes but apparently there are all varieties who show up there. I suggest you fly from Reykjavik to Husavik. It's pricy but it only takes an hour and is a lot better than trying to drive it.

  • NOT even close mate ... HERVEY BAY AUSTRALIA is whale watch capitol of the world / we get 15,000 humbacks visit our bay and stop and play and swim right up to the boats .. come to iceland watch whales then go to restaurant and eat em ... EPIC FAIL

  • do not! go to iceland to watch whales.. their government is a terrorist governmetn and they are slaughtering the whales you watch. Iceland tourism shoud be boycotted!

  • haha alright :D

    íslendingur ?

  • Yeah I see it now. It is totally out of context here. No one is talking about whale hunting. I must have misplaced it.

  • I'm sorry, but why are you replying to my comment ?

  • Whale Watching can prevent the whale from getting food. Because you are usually chasing it when it is trying to eat. Another thing. There are to many whales around Iceland and they are dying from hunger. We need to hunt some of them to keep the natural balance in the sea.

  • Going whale watching is one of the best experiences you can have. Even if you're soggy and cold after the trip, you always feel so good. I always go to Húsavík with my friends at least twice a year to go whale watching with them. I was raised there and my dad worked on a whale watching boat for a period of time, and I got to help sometimes, bringing the buns and such (:
