Was asked to ride this 3-year-old filly for pictures and video. Sweetest thing to work with, but cracked me up when she turned on a bit of flare because she got a bit confused then got excited as young horses will. Nothing like a bit of happy pony to livin' up the day.

  • wow ur a really good rider but all your vids (the ones i saw anyway) have horses with issues....it just makes you wonder where do you find them ? i only come across horses or ponys like that once in a blue moon. it takes alot to mess horses up that bad, so anyways i was jsut trying to figure out why all the horses in ur videos have such issues?

  • I missed this question. I am asked to work with horses who have specific issues and work with a lot of young horses in general. There many horses with different issues and situations. I am known to work with them, so I see more of them. Some horses just have moments, more or less depending on personality and training. It is wonderful you do not see it. I see it (and more of it) because those are the horses I am often asked to work with. I do have many videos without any moments or issues at all.

  • Can I use this clip in my horse falls video? I know you didn't fall off =D but I'm including some spooks, refusals, and bolts as well.

  • I do not typically allow people to use my clips in horse fall or bad day compilations because the whole story is not told and understood that way. I do thank you for your interest and for asking rather than just taking it :D.

  • Hi there, i was wondering if you might be able to help me. You look like a wonderful horse rider and very confident. I have a 16year old school master perfect in everyway except for one thing. Im a very nervous rider and latley when we have been going to other places and riding, when i canter he jumps around a bit. Hes not sore. His back is round and its really knocking my confidence. Its not much but its really scaring me :S. do you know why he might be doing this? Thankyou heaps.

  • From the bit information its sounds most like he is just getting excited - a bit of extra energy at a new place. Being a bit nervous as a rider you're probably also acticipating it now making it worse for the both of you. Have you ever tried longing him when you get to a new place to get him focused and both you comfortable before you get on? Perhaps your trainer could work with both of you at the new place. No reason to keep rattling your confidence when you can build and learn from it.

  • You are one brave person, halfpassgal.

  • Too funny, makes me think last fall I decided to take my daughters pony out for a spin, he's pretty much mild and calm for the kids, he reared-bucked and I was off, only a 4 foot fall. I don't know how ya stay on. You definately inspire me. THX for sharing the videos.

  • You did good sticking with her and handled her well. Looks like a very interesting ride. ;p

  • haha that is like my horse everyday haha but shes gotten a lot better. you did an awesome job with this little one. keep up the good work!!

  • what else can you expect you are sitting on a three year old. it has not matured mentally or physically yet

  • i agree. and my family had a horse like when i was growing up. he was excellent with children. we rode him around by ourselves all the time, he was wonderful. but put an adult on him and he turned into a handful! he wasn't mean and nasty, but he sure could be a pain, haha

  • this is just for some people if you can say something nice dont say anything at all O.O

    Anyway u were really gd!

I've been asked to break this little like 11hh pony :P

  • yeah definitely i agree with that, horses have bad days and good days but some horses do have issues caused by humans. For example my horse was jumped when he was lame due to misguided riders. for a long time he was terrified of jumping and had an "issue" with it. Its taken a long time but he has his confidence back and loves jumping. anyways i get ur point :)

  • I have watched the other vids, and I'm not trying to be one of those stupid people that pick fights on youtube, because its stupid, I dont even know you so why would I argue through text? I'm just saying that the horses dont have "issues". they get spooked or have a bad day, it happens to the best of us, the end. horses arent machines and we cant control what they do, they will do what they want, and they have brains to make them have a good or bad day, the horses dont have "issues"

  • Read before you make stupid comments! I have the utmost respect for this rider and in this comment i am taking into account the many videos she has of herself riding very stressed out horses with some serious issues! obviously this filly is young and this sort of behaviour is representative of that however some of the other horses in her video clearly have some issues which could only have been caused by people. Watch her other vids and you will see what i mean.

  • "it takes a lot to mess horses up that bad" what is that supposed to mean? its a THREE year old filly, and its excited, and thats normal, horses have good days and bad days, not "issues". have you ever had a bad day? think before you speak
