I go there all the time and always see the Acela flying through, it's quite empressive actually because you are SOOO close to it!! If you weight less than 100lbs you'd better hang on to something otherwise this train will suck you out of your skin.

Great video! Interesting that they actually announce that the train is flying at 150mph, in addition to the automated announcement. At New Carrollton, where the AE doesn't stop, they have a "train approaching" sign that blinks when a train flies through (left over from the Metroliner days), and I think the same automated announcement.

why does this show up on my "recommended videos" when i've already watched this vid like 8 times?

Probably because you watch train videos on youtube, so it recommends it since its a train vid

If he's going through a turnout @ that signal, there's no way he's even close to 150mph. That announcement is meant only to keep people away from the track.

Look at "Acela Express Clocked with Radar Gun @ 148 MPH" Video by AMtrakfannec927, it says its going 148

The closer that I look it seems that it's just a slight curve rather than an equilateral turnout, the signal on the adjacent track is showing clear. That's why I included the "IF" part, since there's no 150mph switches in existence. Nice Vid.
