The Bonnie Hunt Show recently invited me on to represent the PS22 Chorus on May 4th, 2009. (The show actually aired on the 6th.) They were kind enough to allow me to post the footage, and here it is. In the video you will hear the kids singing a breathtaking (and previously un-posted) version of "Viva La Vida" by Coldplay. Bonnie was great, and showed her heart and humor in our discussion. It definitely was an amazing experience and I'm happy to be able to share it in excellent quality.

  • You know, Mr. B, I'm from Brazil. We muchly don't have music program in our public shools, any kind of art program that I know (only isolated examples). Watching you and your kids makes me wanna do something to that reality to change in my country! It would be so good to have thousand of not so-great, but yet good choirs in our elementary schools aswell! Keep doing your wonderful job! I've been listening to the chorus since Purple People's rendition, a long time ago! lol. Regards from Brazil!

  • purple people, so in love with that cover! glad to hear that's the one that got you hooked. :)

  • I'm in love with that one too. =)

I'm a HUGE Tori's fan, as you, thank you for all her renditions by far! Gold Dust is inspiring. ^^

  • lol! 2 for 2 so far on naming my personal faves.....

  • What a dream. Love you!!! Need a teaching assistant?? Lol. I think everyone wants to be a part of this school now! Such positive energy and pure love of music and the arts!! I have been all for not cutting arts in schools for years because music was the highlight of my school days. You're an angel to those little angels! Hope they keep u around forever. You are like Mr. Holland from Mr. Holland's Opus! Lol. Xoxoxo. LOVE.

  • The lives you've changed, the dreams you've built, the families you've cheered up and the kids you've saved from the streets ... Mr. B. take a bow.

You are a credit to the human race and I wish I had a teacher like you all those years ago in Glasgow.

    Well done, Sir.

  • why are you so amazing ? :)

  • @graceisahurricane Ugh, I know how you feel! Plus, half the kids in my chorus class were just there because they thought it was an easy A.... Hardly anyone actually bothered singing! It was horrible!

  • Gah, you need your own tv show... You are just so energetic and expressive! I hope you know the work you do for these kids really is life-changing.... If I didn't have teachers like you, I don't know where I would be, but i certainly wouldn't be here right now. Keep up the great work!

  • Mr. B - If we could just clone you and place one of you in every school in America - how great would that be?! Your passion and dedication, and the joy and talent of the children, is so inspiring. Bravo!!!

  • You go Mr. B!!!! You win the best hair out of all music teachers!!!!!!

  • I LOOOOVE HIM!!! What a great person!!!

  • Yes, not everyone expresses themselves through math, english, or science. It is utterly important these days to offer the arts in schools especially public.

  • Wow Bonnie Hunt really reminds me of Sarah Palin here LOL.
