I don't think a better example can be made than here on how it is just as important (if not more important) to be able to TAKE punishment as it is to dole it out in order to be a successful fighter.

Continuing... Holmes, Lennox, Marciano, Ali, Louis, Frazier all ranked higher... this puts the Klitschko hardly cracking the top ten. Then I have completely no qualms about putting the lighter heavyweights of the past ahead of the bros, such as E.Charles, Liston, Walcott.. and now that takes the bros definitely out of the top 10 and somewhere in the mid pack between 10 and 20.

But I don't sleep on them either, they are a couple of big guys that are in tremendous shape, they are not that awkward or clumsy for their size either. The thing that I cannot overlook is that I don't see them significantly standing above and beyond the past likes of:

    Max Baer

    Max Schmeling

    Primo Carnera

    etc...

Therefore, Ken Norton's career is more defined and it may be very reasonable to rank Norton higher than Klitschkos.

Same goes for Foreman and Holyfield, all fairly ranked higher.

I really don't hate on the Klitschko bros and the recent state of the heavyweight division is totally questionable, so it's difficult to define your brand and create a legacy with a very minimal amount of good heavyweight opponents.

With that being said, and in all sincerity, and at best, the Klitschko bros cannot get ranked higher than Lennox Lewis. Lol, with all due respect we can't take anyone serious who believes any Klitschko is the greatest of all time.

larry holmes battered ali, and he would have done the same thing 5 years earlier.

Why do Lennox Lewis fans deny, lie and distort information?

    Thursday, June 6

Lewis' accomplishments on the line vs. Tyson

    By Tim Graham

    Special to ESPN

Lewis' detractors claim his accomplishments are not enough to overcome his shortcomings

It's laughable to think of Lewis as the greatest heavyweight since -- well, The Greatest. A younger Holyfield warrants consideration, as does Larry Holmes in his prime

Great fighters, Norton and Holmes. Decision could have gone either way, but I gave a slight edge to Holmes. Each would destroy the farce of a heavyweight division today.
