I think connecting a stereo volume pedal to the TimeBender's Audio Outs is the best way to go. Then it'll work as a Volume pedal all the time.

If you have a volume pedal plugged into the timebender, Can you use the volume pedal for volume when the timebender isn't on?

You can run Guitar Bass,Keys Vocals,The Possibilities r Endless,I own it,& I also have the Digitech RP1000 & I have pulled my T.B out of the BOX, Like 3 or 4 Times Because I am still Learning about My RP1000 UNIT,All I know just theTIME I messed around with theT.B,It's going 2 be FLAWLESS When I get everything where I want it own my RP1000.I mean i thought it was going to take a while to Learn everything on my RP1000,The T.B u will Spend time HAVIN FUN Woking with

This is hands down the best online review of anything that I've seen in the last 10 years. Not so much the TimeBender, which looks like a cool enough piece of kit in its own right, but Daniel Fisher's presentation of it.
