@LeaderStorm I have a NSH and at local shows I show him barefoot and he does quite well. For Arab breed shows I might eventually put shoes on him to enhance him a little, but they are going to be light toe weights for Country Pleasure. I refuse to go so heavy that he looks like a park horse in a country class even though high stepping in country is being judged more and more favorably. I might not get far fighting the system, but I have my principles.

@LeaderStorm actually it all depends of what divisions you are showing in and the breed. if you are showing in academy it doesnt matter at all if they have any action but if you're in a performance class it does matter and the horse is mostly judged on it's movement. i show my saddlebred in country pleasure so he shouldnt have heavy pads in his shoes but they have to be weighted enough for him to trot level. if you are showing arabs or national show horses they are permitted to have padding

you guys look sooooo good!! great jobb!!
I'm curious, does this horse have shoes on or is it barefoot? Do you know if a horse can do saddleseat barefoot?

@LeaderStorm Only on the front at that time. Yes they can do it barefoot if they have good feet. The only reason why I couldn't put shoes on that horse is because he didn't have enough foot and grown enough.
