This was the maiden flight of my new 3DHS Scott Stoops Sukhoi SU26. Extremely stable plane but i had not lowered the elevator dual rates enough for my advanced beginner flying style. It porpoised on me a few times but still remained easily controllable.
I flew this in low rates 70% throws on ELE and AIL with 40% expo. The Rudder was at maximum throw with 80% expo as called for in the instructions. Powered by a Suppo 2826 brushless outrunner and a 60A ESC (also Suppo) using a 13 x 6.5 APC thin Electric prop. Put in 2 1800 mAh 11.1V lipos wired in paralell. Plenty of power and I am guessing I can get about 6 minutes flight and still have plenty of battery left for a extra pass or 2 if the landings don't feel right. Radio is a JR 9303 2.4gHz and the RX is just a AR6100. I will have to wait till I get a few more pennies saved up and then will put a AR6200 in it so I can feel more confident about the radio link.
The roll rates on this plane even at low settings was amazing....... I am guessing this plane will practically chase its own tail if flown on high rates. I know I had a hard time keeping up with the rolls and it took awhile to get a feel for this one.
Thanks Rick......... I keep lurking in the other place and see your prgress. You are an inspiration my friend!
