What if I have black ink, and my printer will still not print out the black ink?
-
So that is why i cant print any thing in black thanks for our help!

The first step you would want to take is to run the Clean Printhead option from the printer utility. To access the utility, open Solution Center, click on settings, click on printer toolbox and then choose the 'Clean the printheads' option. It will print out a test page at the end of the clean, if the printout looks good, you are done cleaning. Try all of the levels as necessary. If you are still running into problems, you may need to replace your cartridges.

so it's printed with ,kinda...faded, misaligned bits, but what to do? It keeps missing lines in text documents and going grey unexpectedly :(

ive done the test but it does not tell me the serial number and the other text it only shows the color test blocks the printer is the C4580
Sounds like you're not seeing any black ink on the test page? That would indicate that your black cartridge is not printing. Most likely it's out of ink.
