"WARNING" Disclaimer: This light gets very hot and only works with night vision capable cameras. Use this light at your own risk. I would not advise using it for long periods of time. Viper Paranormal shows you how to make an inexpensive alternative to an expensive infrared illuminator. Use this for Ghost Hunting or whenever you want to shoot video in the dark.
Want to learn if your camera will work with this light? This link will show you if it will or won't.

  • When the lamp is powered, what does it look like to the naked eye? Can you see a dim blue, or red glow?

  • @danagol1985 Yes there is some glow.

  • you dont need a fixture do you? would it work if i just screwed it in a regular light socket?

  • @bobo4ish It should work.

  • ...the IR bulbs to my existing flood light fixtures!

My question is: how does the heat emission of an IR bulb compare to the heat emission of a regular incandescent bulb of the same wattage rating? I just want to make sure it's OK to use a (say) 150W IR bulb in a socket rated for 150W incandescent bulb. I would assume the heat emittance is the same, but I want to play it safe. I guess I should/will just google it, but I thought it was a good question to post.

    Thanks for the vid!

  • @davidfairlie There is a lot of heat coming from the IR. Probably 10 times more.

  • @zacker2000 You are not welcome on my channel anymore. Plus your are an idiot. This has nothing to do with sensitivity. its all illumination pal.

  • how many IR leds do you think would equal that 1 IR heat bulb?

  • You think this will be too hot if I replace the flood lights outside with these bulbs? I am trying to catch my neighbor throwing cat poop and eggs at my house...not sure if my IR cam can see all the way to where he chucks it from...

  • Thanks for the idea. This works great. I picked up the bulb at Petco and the clamp lamp at Home Depot. It lights up most of my backyard which is great because I use night vision to hunt rats with my air gun. You're a life saver. I was looking at spending a few hundred bucks to buy bigger stronger IR LED lights. Not anymore. Thanks again.

  • You are honestly a lifesaver! I was looking at IR floods and the cheapest one i can find was almost $600 dollars! Thank you!

  • what's the distance like on this? will it work well outside in the woods?

  • me and my friends can't get the bulb in.. to hard and confusing, come do it for us.

  • Fantastic video showing the contrast between lights... I have a small car battery in a back pack with a 200 watt inverter. The clamp on fixture was upgraded by taking carbon tubing and gluing across the front of the fixture, 3 tubes form a nice web so you can't easily make contact with the bulb.... good luck all.
