@drphonic7 I saw a Rivers and Holland trio as a kid in Modena. I remember a stunning cello solo by Dave, which instantly made him my forever favorite bass player. I think the drummer was Steve Ellington, in which case the date would have been 1980. (I am rather confident it wasn't Altschul, which would make it later than 1977). Wonder if somebody else in the audience of that concert remembers: everything had been hastily moved inside a small movie theatre because of the rain.
Thank you Hugenmatt for posting. I am extremely grateful for getting the chance to see these great musicians in their prime. I say prime but they are still going strong and are amongst the most creative people around today

Absolutely amazing solo by Dave Holland! Lucky, I would have love to have seen this.
