Roman Polanski Speaks Out About Extradition

Filmmaker Roman Polanski has broken his silence to lay out his case for why he should not be extradited from Switzerland to the U.S. In a post on a friend's Web site, Polanski says he is not asking for pity but only asks "to be treated fairly." (May 4)

I don't condone Polanski fucking a 13-year-old chick back in the 70s when they both were stoned. I'm just saying, Polanski could have done worse considering his background. Say: you barely escape a Nazi concentration camp but your family doesn't (and you witness countless atrocities during that wartime scene). Say: years later, your pregnant wife is slaughtered by drugged-out psychopaths...We're lucky he didn't climb a tower with a sniper rifle

Let's all just try and show Samantha and Mr Polanski the respect you would show anyone caught in the headlights like they both were. Samantha and Mr Polanski both regret the incident. Dragging up errors of judgment people make serves no good purpose. As the old saying goes; 'you will never move forward safely if you are always looking back'. The world moves on.
