@DraconianTroll I would think it's because the DMR is a 5 shot weapon, while the Needle rifle is about a 7 shot.

Needle rifle is 5 shot as well as DMR. But if you shoot to the body, it'll be 7 shot when DMR is 8 shot ...

@JIMMAK30 they can use the needle rifle,hysteria uses all the time in scrims and in main events but the dmr is stronger,one less bullet to take the shields out i think.

@DraconianTroll pretty sure the needle rifle is banned from mlg, there thinking of bringing it back for future seasons but its undecided.
