American metal is doing pretty well. But our pop scene is in tatters. All we have at the moment is shitty rap, Disney Channel stars, and basically anything that has a dance beat and/or appeals to 12 year olds.

Actually Nevermore isn't bad.. and I think Symphony X is rather good too, both American bands. But yeah, I agree with you that most of the American music is just pure junk now.

"it seems"? Oh god...modern American music is just horrific. It's all Auto-Tuned pop music made by artists only chosen for their good looks. Talent doesn't matter, and the songs are all written by producers that cater to the largest audience. The funny thing is, up until maybe 2004 or 2005, American music was actually pretty good (Jimmy Eat World forever!), but now that only good American band left is Kamelot. Europe will forever be the best.
