@Rossco139 I don't believe there's actually a limit on bolt action rifle magazine capacity, but I could be wrong. I've seen the occasional (and quite rare) 20 round magazines they tried with the SMLE in the First World War.
-
@CentredOne Since it's a bolt action, there's no limitation on the number of rounds the magazine can hold. For semi-auto centrefire rifles, it's 5 rounds (10 in pistols) and semi-auto rimfire has no limit.

not even mad minnute it is 30-40 round a minute he was too slow on the reload.
-
@Taud Yep,those worried about breaking the law are the ones who suffer,and the crims really dont give a flying fk about it.
-
@saltydog45 canada has a lot of it, its just restricted to your house and the shooting range, or the magazine is pinned to 5 or 10 rounds sometimes, gun prohibition and restriction is just crap it never works for citizens
-
@Taud Yep,technology has moved on.Its been interesting watching what is coming out of ex combloc countries.The Chezs are producing some amazing weapons,China has even started catching up with the world!I think the worlds forces will head away from the 5.56 but the cost of rearming in todays money makes it prohibitive,to go to a sub 7mm round.In NZ there are massive restrictions on anything over a seven round mag in a semi auto,and autos are only collected.So we miss out on the good stuff

@saltydog45 yeah the dragunov is considered surplus now, countries like vietnam and laos have and use them for their long range, your from NZ so i wouldnt expect you to know that, as well as there being tons of surplus dragunovs for sale here in north america, as for the rpd, yeah thats old news as well, you havent looked into the ak74 u or the VSS "vintorez"? those are the new standard.....
-
@Taud So your saying the SVD is out of service and is surplus? Along with the RPD?????
-
@jiggiwatt And a lot of people forget that the case is produced primarily out of steel and why change something that works,battle proven,and is cheap to manufacture for an army of millions?
-
@MrXclio yeah those nasty right-handers ...it's discrimination I tell you
-
fucked if you're left handed,

@Cozsack Thats a common story yet it has no proof in reality what so ever, it was said to be part of the british propaganda in order to further their rifles popularity and trying to scare their enemies theres no written or verbal accounts from the germans side that confirm this story, its always some kid with an enfield that thinks hes bad ass now because he heard that story and bought one, the ppl that tell it are typically UK or north american, not german big surprise
A lee endfield 303 is not the best gun of WWI or WWII.I mean not the best bolt action.The Mauser Kar 98K was a lot more powerfull and the Mosin Nagant a realy good gun.

@fanfuckingtasticity I own all three.
Mauser : Excellent quality action. Moderately smooth bolt pull. Crisp trigger pull. Moderate recoil. Adequate sights. Low magazine capacity. Excellent Accuracy. Excellent reliability. Good handling.

@fanfuckingtasticity
Of the 3 cartridges :
8mm Mauser was a rimless round which is still popular in hunting arms today. Excellent ballistic qualities.
.303 british is an outdated rimmed round but still popular due to surplus Enfields. Good ballistic qualities and slightly less power than the 8mm. Was originally black powder.
7.62 x 54R is another outdated round, but still popular thanks to the USSR. Similar ballistics and power to .30-06.
They're all close in my books.

@jiggiwatt 7.62x54R was introduced in 1891 and has been used in every war since. Hardly outdated.
mbs357 1 month ago
@mbs357 Perhaps a better term would be 'dated'. It's still a useful round, but you can't escape the fact that it's a 120 year old berdan primed(primarily) rimmed cartridge.
