Norfolk Southern Forrest Yard 1993

During the Fall of 1993 my dad, baby brother, and I went to Norfolk Southern's Forrest Yard in Memphis Tennessee to catch some switching action. Exact location of the recording was 2396 Southern Ave Memphis TN. Locomotive doing the switching was former Southern GP38AC number 2865.

I dont see many GP 38 high hoods around here anymore. They are all mostly GP 50s..

@TheZeke1974 yeah thats sad...i know NS has been converting the high-hoods to the standard low-hood. It was sad going to Altoona this September and seeing a large string of high-hoods getting prepped for the new cab :(

The Southern serves the south, look ahead look south. Too bad that the ex-Southern locos still in use by NS have been painted over. I miss seeing the tuxedo colors.

Your dad reminds me of my dad, taking his kids out to see the trains! Man that is awesome! I really wish my dad was here to see my videos, he'd love them!
