@agilityscottie the vet said she is a healthy happy dog when we went last week(: i'll have to go and get that book sometime soon and read it. we are just interested in jumping (as i am an equestrain) and she seems to love it and it makes her happy and fit. thanks!

cute dog!! my scottie is currently jumping 2'3...shes getting chubby so i dont want to do her much higher. How do you train them to go over the jumps by just running by them? she only goes over if i jump first with a treat or make it imposible for her not to jump it (with treats). and what are some small things i can find at home she cna jump?

@amy1596 : Hi, thanks for the comment - please check first if your dog is healthy and not fat (if that is the reason he does not want to jump). Then it's only a question of motivation, that jumping itself is already a reward for the dog - read the book of Karen Pryor (Don't shoot the dog) and train with lots of fun, play and reward. Train step by step, make sure that the dog can enjoy success and build up self confidence. Then your relationship with the dog will improve and he will love agility.

What a super little Scottie! The way he jumps almost looks like he's flying--is it because of his long body? 'Would love to train our Scottie in agility, but don't know how hard it is to do.

Thank you - he jumps so funny, because he jumps too early.
For sure you can do Agility with your scottie, if he is healthy and not fat. Then search a dog school where they work only with positive reinforcement/motivation - then you will have much fun and success!

thanks! Flash is a dog, that gives me always everything he can - physically and mentally! He is so great to work with! He is so enthusiastic about agility, it's his life! He is maybe not very fast, but he gives his very best and enjoys it really, that's the most important thing about it
