A government report reckons most women prisoners should be spared jail and only the most dangerous ones locked up. Women's prisons should be closed and the likes of Rose West held in homely custody units near their kids. Of course it could be the answer to our current prisons crisis - think of all those extra jail places that could be used to bang up blokes. But is it fair? I mean, if women really want equality, shouldn't they face the same chance of ending up in the slammer as us fellas? (This weeks panel: Anne Diamond & Ed Vaizey with special guest Robert Bathurst)
It seems simple to me; same crime, same social situation, same punishment.

Google "The Corston Report" from UK Home Office to get quotes like this. "Women should not be sent to jail to teach them a lesson" or "Closing womens prisons would free up more space for men" from feminist Baroness Corston. This shows how far affirmative action will go. ie a "get out of jail free card" and to hell with the victims.
