Jim Cuno, president and director of the Art Institute, introduces the 2009-2010 season, 500 Ways of Looking at Modern, a yearlong investigation of the meaning of modern with cultural partners the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and Poetry Foundation.

  • There's only one worse thing as a contemporary modern artist,

    and that is an expert in contemporary modern art!

    Btw that Dekooning is his best for sure, and thats not saying much.

    I hope one day artists realize that one has to work, to end tired at the end of the day like farmers to, stop stealing parasites!

  • most modern art creates parasites, while some men break their backs working the land, others just talk crap about crap and get lots of money and a easy life. The artist has to learn again to get tired at the end of the day, and to steal less from his fellow men.

    Thats the only kooning i "like", cause of the rhythm, and use of flat space, but the truth is a mediocre painting, in the same game some russians did it better. Problem is art is getting more theoretical, making "educated" elites.
