Here's a 1972 Zenith 18" model C3914, using the 18CC30 tube type chassis. A quick demo shows numerous Chicago area TV stations being received on the analog TV via antenna. June 12, 2009 is the last day for NTSC in the USA, so this TV is seeing its last reception of the signals over the air.

  • How did you get Chicago channel, don't you live in Texas?

  • Nope, I've lived in Chicago area all my life

  • You're probably thinking of "retrochad", he makes very similar videos to me and he's in Texas.

  • Did you guys have two PBS stations? I thought 11 WTTW was the primary PBS. At least it was when I lived there in the '70's.

  • Correct, channel 20 and channel 11 were both PBS.

  • Nice set. Were there many 18-inch sets sold? This it the first time I've heard of one.

  • I've got three different 18" models. They were introduced in '69 as the "decorator series" of cabinets and last offered in '72 like this one. Most all looked similar, with different cabinet and accent color schemes. They're great sets, very heavy and rock solid as you'd probably expect.

  • i collect TV sets like these as well, i love old analog sets, i really want one

  • That's one very nice television! It's to bad that analog TV is out now, I'm glad that there are digital TV receivers!

  • dvb-t sucks.

  • I bought a set very similar to that...a 1973 hand-wired 16" Zenith TV...it finally gave up the ghost in 1993...and had the original picture tube. That sucker weighed a ton to be as small as it is...but that was when the TV went "out" you had it fixed instead to tossing it.

  • Europeans called NTSC "Never The Same Colour"

  • THIS SET REMINDS MY THE 1969 SET MY LATE MOTHER BOUGHT IT. CAN I BUY THIS FROM U?

  • Here in the UK NTSC was known as "Never Twice Same Colour." This will be the reason we adopted the PAL system for the strart of colour here in 1967. I remember watching Rowan and Martins Laugh In, and how garish the colour was on our TVs

  • I live on the central Oregon coast, and atop Mt. Hebo sits one of the last operational NTSC transmitters in the U.S. I have heard that it will probably stay!

  • HEY! I live in Kalamazoo, Michigan & have some sets I would like to sell you, if ur interested! I have a LOT of parts & remotes for the old Zeniths, too! Contact me if ur interested!
