This is the historic building of the Westin St. Francis. The view out the window is to another wing of the St. Francis. There are three wings and this looks to be the middle one. Union Square is the open space and the street shown is Post Street, not Market Street as mentioned in video. Market Street is three blocks south where the cable car turnaround is located.
I stayed at this hotel in March 2003 and had a room facing Union Square. There was this guy dressed in gold and painted gold from head-to-toe -- called him the Gold Man! Awesome hotel -- loved it. So convenient to everything!
I stayed at this hotel! it is the best hotel ever... the cheesecake factory is across the street and if you ask your concierge for his card, there is a special dinner room in the cheesecake factory for Westin St. Francis Guests... this hotel is flippin sweet! 5 star baby!

Is this the old section of the hotel or the newer tower?
