新潟県佐渡を拠点に世界的な公演活動を行なう太鼓芸能集団「鼓童」が、人間にとって根源的な行為「たたく」をテーマに、1988年より佐渡の市町村（現在は佐渡市）と共に­開催している国際芸術祭。

ア・フィレッタ（フランス・コルシカ島）
寄り添って立つ歌い手たち。互いを感じ微妙なバランスを探りながら声が共鳴し合い、情熱が増幅し、彼らはひとつの楽器になる。何世紀にもわたりコルシカの大地にこだまして­きた多声音楽の響きがよみがえる。ア・フィレッタは1978年に当時13歳だったジャン=クロード・アクアヴィヴァにより結成。以来、この芸術が持つ美、情熱、感情的高揚­を世界中の聴衆に届けてきた。レパートリーには民謡や聖歌のほか、オリジナルの楽曲や映画のサウンドトラック、そしてダンス、演劇、オペラとのコラボレーションがある。ア­・フィレッタはコルシカの土に深く根付き、伝統を常に前進させている。

The rich natural splendor of Sado sets the stage for Earth Celebration, an international arts festival that seeks an alternative global culture through musical and cultural collaborations with artists from around the world.

Hosts of the event, Japanese drummers Kodo, invite musicians and performers they have met on their travels to come back to the rich natural paradise that is their home of Sado Island every year. Music from around the globe fills the summer night air, and the sound of the taiko reverberates through the very earth itself.

A Filetta (Corsica, France)

Standing close together, watching, sensing, their voices resonate. Finding the right balance, multiplying in intensity, they become one instrument, evoking centuries of polyphonic echoes across the Corsican landscape. A Filetta was founded in 1978 by the 13-year-old Jean-Claude Acquaviva and they have been bringing the passion, emotional fervour and beauty of this art to audiences around the world ever since. Like the fern from which they take their name, A Filetta are deeply rooted in the Corsican soil. Folk songs and sacred hymns are part of their repertoire, but with original compositions, film soundtracks, dance, theatre and opera collaborations, they are constantly carrying the traditions forward. In Corsica, when someone leaves the island and forgets his roots tehy say "S'e' scurdatu di a filetta" (he has forgotten the fern). You'll never forget A Filetta.
