ArchBang Linux is a lightweight distribution based on Arch Linux. Using the Openbox window manager, it is fast, up-to-date and suitable for both desktop and portable systems. In this series I will show you how to install and convert this into a full Arch Linux system.

  • Spatry I have mobile broadband internet connection and also a wi-fi, is it possible to follow your tutorials with those?

  • @AlavHar I do not see any reason why you couldn't... I watch youtube videos on my android phone

  • @LinuxSpatry I see you misunderstood me :) I mean I connect to the internet on my laptop via a mobile broadband connection, or via wi-fi, is it possible to set up a connection of those types, after installing archbang? maybe you need to download some packages before that's possible...

P.S. sorry for my bad english :D

  • @AlavHar The network manager should automatically detect your wireless hardware after installation and allow you to connect. Most laptops in common use today should be supported.

  • @LinuxSpatry thanks :) again sorry for my english

  • @AlavHar no problem!

  • @Videotubelord thanks mate :)

  • @AlavHar Mobile Broadband will work 100% (except 4G), wi-fi depending on card - if it's broadcom you'll need to install driver by yourself.

  • @LinuxSpatry hey spatry giving archbang another go I installed the distro straight to my hard drive and then del windows 7 by error but that was mainly my fault I actually had a old copy of xp lying around and got that installled which iam happy about and will use archbang on vbox from xp which is working well on my laptop noticed jupiterbroadcasting had this as there disto pick this week must be watching your vids :)

  • Nice video. I use Archbang primarily and every now and then pinguy 11.10. Personally, I prefer Archbang to archlinux direct as it installs ready to go. Archbang makes archlinux a little easier to install as it gives user instant DE, flash and all the basic things you need upon first install. It is pretty fast. It is so fast, loaded my install with xfce4.8, lxde, e17(enlightenment), razor-qt, kde, gnome 3, cinnamon, and now trying xmonad. I am still a beginner at heart. I replaced slim with gdm2
