With the addition of GFCI to your little charging unit there you'll be very close to complying with NEC 625. The only things missing are the proper cable (supposed to be certified for EV charging) and the system isn't automatic. The ventilation part isn't needed since you're outdoors and you not using flooded PbA batteries.

I'm sure it was accidental.

With the addition of an SAE 2009-J1772 connector, we will of course addd a small circuit board with the 1kHz 12v Control Pilot signal and detection of the car impedance to switch it on. That will be quite automatic. But we're probably going to add that where the fake fuel pump hose is now on the left, and keep the right side as is for cars that don't have SAE 2009-J1772.

The video shooting and editing is a challenge. But yeah, I'm getting into it... a step at a time. Both the electric car conversions and the video are acquirable skills. And both are kind of at a convergence point right now. The video tools are just now really coming together. And the LiFePo4 batteries are also just now making E-cars viable in a way they never were before. So I've kind of got two balls in the air, but very interesting balls at that...

You should have it set up like a fuel pump in that when you lift the power cord and plug it into your car, you then flip the switch on the pump, but when you go to place the cord back at the pump if you (or someone forgetful) forgot to turn the pump off before you unplugged it, the switch needs to be fliped to hang the cord up.

Well, unlike a gas pump, if we forget to turn it off, it won't pump smelly electrons out all over the driveway and pose a fire hazard to nearby cigarette smokers.
