Remember, Zinnia was not talking about merely extending natural human life, but aiming for the goal of true immortality. So while individual medical breathroughs may cure diseases and replace failing organs, this is not enough for such advocates of 'Eternal Life.'

Even with my limited understanding of modern medicine, I understand that it would be a monumental undertaking, requiring centuries to extend life by decades, and this was the basis of my premise.

Canada spends about $12 billion dollars on cancer per year. It tends to extend the life of older individuals but some younger individuals. I find the limited working life of the average human being more motivating than death cause if I didn't have 10-20 years of life after retirement that would be great. Unfortunately given cancer research and other such research I might get 30. (That was meant as a light hearted joke.) Unattached women 65 and older yearly income $29,500.

And I wish to address the first accusation which you made, insisting that when I talked about devoting all of the world's resources, this was a fallacious exaggeration.
