Sky Lantern - heavy wind

When lighting a lanter, try not to light when there is heavy wind.
Also, a using a campfire to make it heat up faster did not seem to work...

it disapears to quickly in the light, if you wait till dark you can see the fire for like five mins till it goes out of sight

you let it go way to early, 45 to 90 seconds

Man, you need to hold these for a bit longer to fill up with hot air - really it's best to wait at least a minute, not counting the time when the wick is going.

Also, this wind doesn't look tooooo heavy! Heavy wind would blow the lantern right out your hand- you certainly would lose it as soon as you let it go in heavy wind.

Launching in heavy wind is dangerous. During the first 10 or 15 seconds of the flight it is most vulnerable, there are a lot of disturbances to the airflow near ground level caused by buildings, trees etc. Little whirls, eddies, downdrafts etc. can cause it to crash while still lit and potentially start a fire.

Once it's cleared the first 30 or 40 feet it's ok but below that it's unpredictable.

This is why they always say launch them in calm or light wind conditions.

btw, cow's cant talk, so how would they shout " the sky is falling"! all in all a gr8 video and i went and got some, they are awesome!
