You can see the tutorial here: http://www.sosfactory.com/blog/how-to/the-making-of-temper-tamtrum-illustrati...

I recorded this video while working, this time I did something completely different than my usual cartoon style. I hope you like it :)

  • If you don't mind, I need easy steps I can remember. In my learning process so far, I'm guessing that the steps to draw should be: Sketch, then outlines, then inking, then base colors, then gradients, then highlights and shadows. Is that an acceptable format?

Also, how do you go about layers? I have 1 layer for sketch, 1 layer for outlines, 1 layer for inking, 1 layer for all gradients, 1 layer for shadows and highlights. What would be best? How do you do it?

Thank you so much for your time!

  • @allisondevin It's just a personal preference but this is my process: Sketch, inking, flat colors, shadows, medium light, highlights and reflected lights and effects.

I usually create one layer per shading and finally I merge them and blend the colors when needed (with dodge and burn tool).

    I hope it helps :)

  • I was trying to learn watching this video but, after seeing this, I`m completely depressed :D

You must have been doing this for many years?

  • @allisondevin Yes buddy, I have been doing it for around 8 years. Keep it up!

  • Love your work, do you have any slowed down tutorials?

  • @SamHain1031666 Check my blog (SOSFactory Blog), I think I have some videos on real time.
