The paper in the video is 1/4 inch wide by 6 inches long (0.6cm x 15cm). But any size paper can be used, as long as it fits a similar ratio, and the paper is not too thick; for example 1/2 inch wide by 11 inches long (1.2cm x 30cm) can also work! Luckily, the paper comes in both sizes.

These are really easy to make. They make great accessories to gifts or to use in arts and craft projects.

These stars also look very pretty put together in a jar. You could even write a wish or special message in each one if you wanted!

Thanks for all the comments everyone! They do make me smile! : )

  • how do u fold it in the begginging to start with?

  • @Pikacute562 Take the strip of paper and tie the end into a knot like a piece of string. Then squish the knot and you will have a tiny pentagon (5 sides). Then you fole the paper around and around, tuck in the end and press in the sides with your fingernails to puff it up. Best of luck!

oh right thanks. but do u need a certain type of paper or what? I tried it on looseleaf but failed.

  • @Pikacute562 It works better on thicker paper, so try cutting some printer paper into strips and see what works. You can also pick up star paper at any store that sells asian stationary or perhaps at the origami section of a craft store. : )
