How to Upgrade Any Fireware to 3.1.2 For Free

This video will show you how to upgrade any firmware as far back as 1.1.5 or earlier to firmware 3.1.2 (or 3.1.3) but that would be just stupid.

So you need to navigate to the website that has the firmware on it for download

Firmware download link:
http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/

**Once at the site you will do the following:

1) Click on the bottom bar that says "iPhone / iPod touch"
2) Scroll down to the (3.1.2/7D11) Firmware

NOTE: Make sure that you select the appropriate firmware for the corresponding device.
such as iphone 3g, or ipod touch 1g/2g/3g/ MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT ONE OR IT WILL NOT WORK.

Then connect your device to iTunes, hold the SHIFT key on the keyboard, and while holding click on restore on itunes and then find your firmware and ones it does its thing you're done !!

Created a backup for my touch before running the firmware...so no loss of data!
