She got up then, clearly in shock I grabbed her wrist holding her back but she snatched it away 'don't... DON'T TOUCH ME! What is this Nick? are you using me? Using me as an attempt to get back at him.. to be the one the girl chose? Well tough luck! I ain't playing that game! ...Or any of your games for that matter!' 'Mi..' 'No! Don't you see that I have feelings too? Its not fair Nick!' A tear rolled down her cheek slowly followed by many others, flowing much faster 'Its not fair for you to mess with me like this.. I won't stand for it any more' she sniffled 'I'm gone Nick. Leave me alone!'
With that she walked out slamming the door leaving me sat there heartbroken. How could she think I'd do that to her? I'd never try to hurt her.. ever. 'Wow... what was that' I looked up to see Joe standing there. I diverted my gaze back to my hands 'Nothing' I mumbled wiping my eye before a tear escaped 'Dude' Joe walked into my room sitting beside me 'It was obviously something! She ran out in tears. What did you do?' I looked up 'This time? I did nothing' My voice grew thick 'I told her I needed her, I told her I'd treat her better if I had the chance and' I swallowed back a few tears 'I told her that if Ihad one wish, shed be mine forever' a stray tear escaped and I wiped aat it furiously with my hand 'Really?' Joe sounded surprised, I nodded looking up at him 'Oh. Well what was with her reaction?' I felt a few more tears filling my eyes 'I told her the truth about my feelings and she basically thought I was just trying to get one over on Josh' I wiped at my cheeks again as the building tears began to fall. Joe hugged me then 'Don't worry Nick. She'll realise soon enough.. I promise' he smiled slightly and left after patting my shoulder.
It had been three weeks since I told her everything when I saw Miley again.I was in the shopping center when she walked past I noticed her and started to walk over, she noticed me and started to turn away, I ran after her 'I meant what I said, everything, including how much your friendship means to me' she kept trying to walk away so I grabbed her by the wrist again, she stopped hesitantly, still appearing to be ignoring me, I carried on anyway 'Please Mi, is there something I can say? tell me how to break it down. Just, just give me one chance before you walk away... take the time to turn around and listen to me now... ' She sighed and pulled her wrist from my grasp but turned to fae me folding her arms 'Maybe I could've loved you Mi, I made a lot of mistakes then.. maybe I could've shown that, well, I still care about you more than you could know.. so please Miley... please I'm begging you... don't say its too late to try to make it right' I could see tears building in her eyes, tears started to appear in my own eyes echoing the 'Please Miles, don't cry' she shook her head a bit and took a deep breath.
'I'm sorry Nick' I nodded a little, tears releasing themselves from my eyes and running down my cheeks 'I'm sorry for what I said' she continued 'I couldn't face you after saying that. The more I thought about it the more I realised that you wouldn't do that to me.. that I was being brainwashed into not liking you by Josh, I'm not with him anymore, he wasn't worth sacrificing you' I looked up at her then smiling, my face still wet with tears but I didn't care, I stepped forward and pulled her into my arms holding her close to me 'Its not too late' she whispered in my ear, I pulled away slightly and smiled at her 'Then shall we make it right?' she nodded and giggled slightly, wiping my wet cheeks 'Of course I'll be your girlfriend Nick' she gave me a quick kiss on the lips, the magic of it flowed through me. I pulled her into another hug. I guess that whole 11:11 superstition works after all I thought remembering my wish with a smile, but only time will prove it.
