@timothyp873 USS HOOD......FFS!
-
HMS Hood had the unlucky fate of the main powder magazine catching aflame. This resulted in a catastrophic explosion which tore the ship apart. USS Arizona and the IJN Yamato had explosions that either caused the sinking or happened when the ship was sinking.

When the hood sank,One of the survivors was a mechanic i believe and he was deep inside the engine room when it exploded.He said he was lifted to the sirface in a giant air bubble and managed to escape the pull of the current created when a ship sinks.I believe he survived without any injury as well.A miracle to be sure.
