  • What a beautiful but sad vid. Boy she sure didn't know what she had until it was too late :(

  • @IrishEyez01

    HEY JOY,

THANK YOU SO MUCH for your comment, I was so hoping this video would evoke the emotional shadow play that was cast over them so soon in their marriage; you are more than right, she really DID let a good thing pass her by (the MORON!).

  • How terribly sad that the woman whom he loved never really cared for him at all. I often think how lonely and bereft he must have been when she left him sitting in that huge house he had prepared for their life together. I think he just gave up and let his health go, he just didn't care anymore. All the women he was with used him for their own career or for money. I get angry every time I think about it, my heart just breaks.

  • @VictoriaRu29

I agree with you, but at the same time I'm starting to realize how complex their relationship was given the fact that there were these "outside stressors" that a lot of relationships didn't have, I think there is more to the story than even I once thought. Even so, I think she did some shitty things and it hurt him tremendously, but I read something she wrote about him and their life together, so slowly she is gaining some cred from me personally, though I don't LOVE her yet.

  • He was the hottest hottie who ever hotted.

    WELL SAID, My Friend!!!!

  • Rudy loved her and hoped that she would have had his children and be an at home wife. He must have realized that it would be an impossibility with Natasha, but still his heart and soul loved her till he died. I read he died alone with no one with him. That is such a heartbreaking thought. He was so beloved by so many, yet never had the peace and contentment he so sorely wanted. Rest in Peace you beautiful charming man. I am sure you must know now how much loved and missed you are even yet

  • you should read the book Madam Valentino,Natacha Rambova ,aka Winifred Kimball Shaughnessy, aka WINK ! By Michael Morris! It will cast a new light on the Mystery 2nd wife of Valentino!

  • @musicologo1able

Valentino wasn't queer and Rambova (Winifred Kimball Shaughnessy) wasn't too. Many have speculated about this, but no evidence has ever been given.

All Rudy's friends, even from his childhood, said he was heterosexual, and Rambova is not in the list of of Alla Nazimova's lesbian actresses , because she was not homosexual.

Their relationship was complex, because they were not simple characters, but in their own way they loved each other.

  • “Rudolph Valentino had an air of sadness. He wore his success gracefully, appearing almost subdued by it. He was intelligent, quiet and without vanity, and had great allure for women, but had little success with them, and those whom he married treated him rather shabbily. . . No man had greater attraction for women than Valentino; no man was more deceived by them."”

    -Charlie Chaplin

  • "She is beauty drugged with sophistication".

  • @msrudyfan 3 Abortions? Cite your source, please. George Ullman's book is what is known as a smear campaign against a strong headed woman and there's not much truth to it. He went head to head with her many times and lost. Very humiliating for a movie exec in the roaring '20s. Of curse he didn't like her.

  • @anderdorm cite your source, please.

  • @anderdorm George Ullman, Rudy's manager, wrote a book that was published in October, 1926, 2 months after Rudy's death. He says in his book that the photos of Natacha accurately portray her personality--she wasn't a happy or cheerful person. I think she looks bitchy, bored or angry most of the time. She conceived 3 of Rudy's babies and aborted all 3 of them because she didn't want children, knowing that he desperately did. This is just wrong.

  • @Kathylouu JA told her lesbian girlfriend this about Rudy, claiming he told her this. He had sexual relationships with many women, and none of them ever said he infected them. They had treatment for gonorrhea then, which was not as effective as today's treatments, but it still worked most of the time, so I think it's likely he was cured. There are several web references to the history of STD treatments in the pre-antibiotic days.

  • @ForseItalia Have you read George Ullman's book? If so, you wouldn't like her at all. George says that Rudy loved her unconditionally, but he's not sure she ever loved him. He never saw her behave affectionately toward him, and she frequently insulted him and verbally abused him in front of people. He calls her "egotistical" and said that after United Artists made it clear she couldn't set foot on their property and she couldn't use Rudy to achieve her ambitions, she was through with him.
