  • Dodge Viper ACR? why not GTS?

  • Dodge Viper ACR? why not GTS?

  • Second, the competition was supposed to be for the best handling car not the easiest driving. You have to be able to drive to take the Viper to it's limit. There are no computers to help you, except ABS. No car for $100K can be driven from your house to the track and back again and lay down the lap times that the ACR can. PERIOD! I've raced both the ACR and ACR-X and the only car better is the Viper Competition Coupe. Drive one before you post ignorant comments.

  • @dpollock70 Second, No ther car that costs $100K that can be driven from your house to the track and home again can come close to the ACR. Unless you have driven one you just can't understand. It is an amazing car on the track. I have raced bothe the ACR and ACR-X and the only thing better is a Viper Competition Coupe! The competition was for the best handling not the easiest to drive and with that said the Viper killed the lap times. The Viper is DEFINITELY the best handling car on the road.

  • 2 points that need to be made: First, on the production car issue: I ma in the car business and it IS a production car. The ACR is an equipment package anyone could have ordered on their Viper. My friend owns a Dodge dealership and they have sold at 30 or 40 2010 ACRs at their 1 dealership alone. They still have 7 or 8 remaining in inventory if you want one. Go to viperexchange to see what's available. One of his cars is the one that just broke the 'Ring record.

  • Tester was honest and a good driver. He said it handles like a bull, it's brutal, it has no traction control. Yes, it would be fun to drive but a lot of people would crash it if they pushed it. At least you would be much safer pushing an R8 or M3. It's a car for the American market, you can't blame Chrysler for that. We'd all love to drive one but I'd probably buy a car that also handles like a real supercar.

  • @halflife103 They've produced plenty more than just 10 ACRs a year. How about doing an actual search before posting a random number.

  • @halflife103 "Get over it, the Automotive Industry, and anyone who has been around racing cars their whole life knows that the Dodge Viper ACR IS a production car. I don't know why you deny it"

Slugger- Do you have some wires crossed? I *Never* Denied the ACR was a production car. Myself, and Nwa90 were talking about the GUMPERT, NOT the ACR. This is why I kept saying GUMPERT in my posts.

  • @halflife103 (pt2 convince) The only thing im trying to "convince" you of, is that you need, or at a minimum *should* try and simply understand that the concept of the term production car is NOT a standard one amongst -anyone-. Certainly not the "Automotive Industry". It is a matter of interpretation on an individual level, there is NO majority acceptance of the term.

  • @halflife103 "You have a lot of people to convince that it is not a production car. I don't see why you are trying to convince me"

That you are under the conclusion that I need convince a lot of people, and that I am even trying to convince you of such, convinces me that you lack reading comprehension skills. I am NOT trying to convince you it isnt. Again- I admitted by YOUR own definition/understanding of "Production Car", it is, along with particular F1 cars (pt1 convince)
