Namibia - A Lone Backpacking Trip

An amazing journey and fantastic people. What you can see here, is only a small part of over 14 hours of footage I shot during my second trip to Namibia. Traveling alone with a backpack and tent gives me that immense feeling of freedom and makes contact with other people more personal.

My tips... Hmm, what can i say...

Be friendly to people you meet on the road, and listen to their stories. Respect them, and they will respect you. Prepare for looong waiting. ALWAYS have water with you. Rely on your instinct. Buy lightweight backpack, tent etc. Be prepared for changing your plans. Help people when you can, and they will help you. Don't behave like a potential victim, but don't be too self confident. Don't hurry - Namibia is a wonderful country to enjoy the silence :)

Thank you, donnigohome. I spoke with many Namibians and I was often amazed by their respect towards other people and tribes. For them (even for teenagers) "peace" is not just an abstract, empty word. It's something present in everyday life and something they really care for as people being a part of the multi-tribal nation. Really impressive.
