I've searched a lot on youtube to find tutorials about "motion tracking" and "3Ds"... This is a really good tutorial for beginners!
I'm busy with a small project: I'd like to track a scene, import an object from SolidWorks into 3Ds and then rendering it into the "real world"... and this tutorial helped a lot! But I'm using Icarus to track...

this is sweet... it's been 2 years but im gonna ask a question anyway. can't we do this camera tracking on 3ds max? do we need synth eyes program?

3DS Max does have this capability, however it is more awkward and imprecise compared to SynthEyes or another dedicated tracking application.

Shadows can be produced using a plane with a Matte/Shadow texture applied.
